prayer and worship

Keys of the Kingdom: Prayer

“And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart or faint.” – Luke 18:1 [ESV]

Central Truth: Prayer is your spiritual connection to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus through the anointing of the Spirit. It’s your lifeline.

Whoever you connect to, you become. When I connect to the Creator through prayer, I become a flow of answered prayer to others. Someone said it is like when water goes through a pipe the pipe also gets wet. The blessings that flow through answered prayer affects me, and I become a blessing to others. The word prayer means to become an extension. The word faint means lack of oxygen. Prayer becomes my extension as the life-giver. If I have no oxygen, I have no spiritual breath and I die!

“Prayer is literally God breathing His BREATH through us His plans and purpose.” – Pastor Eugene

Jesus said that man shall live by every word that breathes the breath of God, Ruach Elohim [Matthew 4:4]. All scripture is God-breathed [2 Timothy 3:16]. I remember, as I young man, sitting in a youth group prayer meeting, my turn came to pray. I couldn’t say a word for 5 minutes and so they skipped passed me and felt sorry for me! Now, we have been having weekly prayer meetings since 1983 where we pray every Monday night for 38 years!

Prayer can come by a generational impartation. My father grew up with his grandmother and she would pray for 2 hours with so much faith that while she was praying, it rained and flooded the house, but she remained steadfast on her knees and continued praying. Nothing moved her. She was persistent and persevered until she got an answer from heaven!

When my dad received Jesus as Lord, he began to pray with that same anointing of impartation and saw great signs and wonders with great demonstrations of answered prayer. He always prayed with such boldness and authority that nothing stood in his way. That even satan asked for mercy when Don Leonard prayed. That demons even said Paul I know, Jesus I know, Don I know! Hallelujah!

The prayer of agreement was so powerful in our prayer life that no prayer we ever prayed was denied. That generational blessing has come on me, on my children and even on my grandchildren. The fourth generation, even at the age of 6, 5 and 3, are the righteous that carry such glory and power, dynamic in its working that they know NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO THOSE WHO PRAY!

“Call unto Me, and I WILL ANSWER YOU, and show you GREAT and MIGHTY things.” – Jeremiah 33:3

In John 15:7, Jesus said, “If you have a living communion and tarry in My Word, and My Living active Rhema Words has a living-communion as life in you, whatever you ask shall be done unto you!” The integrity and the final authority of the Word gives us a foundation to be successful in our asking! When David prayed for Solomon [1 Chronicles 29:10-20], when Hannah wept for Samuel [1 Samuel 2:26], Anna interceded for Jesus [Luke 2:36-38].

To hear the Word is to hear the voice of God speaking through us. He honors His own Word. The Blood of Jesus paid the price of the covenant for that Word to be answered through the Spirit. To get a deeper revelation of scripture we need a greater understanding of the scripture to have confidence, not just in His ability, but in His willingness. And to increase in our faith is to receive the answer! When I invest time in studying and meditating and being in fellowship with Him, I begin to realize His character in His Greatness of who HE IS. When Moses got the revelation of I AM, he moved into a greater revelation of the God who is fully, I can, I shall, I will! Then my prayer life enters a bigger, better, and more consistent answers to my prayers.

Through 40 years of ministry, I have learned and develop one of the greatest areas of prayer. And that is to hear the voice of the Spirit in Prayer and pray out that which I hear, and I see the tremendous results of answered prayer and hear wonderful testimonies of His Power and Glory.

One lady stood in agreement with me as we were praying for a young boy dying of a rare blood disease. Suddenly, I saw this boy’s angel behold the face of the Father at the throne. Then I heard a voice coming from the throne: “Take the answer back to the earth and declare wholeness”. I did not tell the lady what I saw or heard but I knew this little boy would be completely healed and a miracle would take place. Two weeks later she shared the testimony of the boy and that he fully recovered. They could not find one trace of the disease in his blood. The whole family received Jesus because of the radical encounter.

As I was reading the Word, I suddenly saw a mini vision of this one brother and I saw him standing at a split road, not know which road to take. Remember, you become accountable as an intercessor as He shows to help and prepare the path for someone else as you stand in the gap. As I began to intercede, I saw him taking the right split and began to follow that path. Two years later, he conveyed the situation to me about a decision he needed to make and said what I saw previously. He became blessed in following God’s plan for his life.

A Pastor of one of the largest churches in our nation phoned me to pray specifically about a situation. Immediately, I heard the voice of the Lord speak to my spirit and I knew exactly what to pray, how to pray, and what to say. The next day, they returned the call by saying everything was resolved supernaturally. I asked the Lord why this prominent person phoned me. Who am I? Do they not have intercessors? The Lord spoke so clearly and said, “Son, you have My heart, and because you asked, I will answer!”

“…the people who know their God shall be strong and do mighty explosive demonstrations of the Spirit.” – Daniel 11:32

Prayer puts you in the same position to fellowship in His Glory just like Adam and Eve. We have a better covenant, meaning that the same Voice that spoke to them is the same Voice speaking on the inside of me! In Genesis 3:8, the voice that was walking in the garden is in me! In the cool of the day, that Voice came. Cool in Hebrew means breath. So, prepare your heart in worship and in the word for an encounter of hearing Him in your prayer life as you pray becoming a vessel of His voice to the world, the nations, your community, your household. You are the Breath of God!

Scripture meditation: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing; always have the attitude of prayer. Be ready in and out of season to speak! The voice of prayer is constantly praying in you.
