John 14:16 – I will intercede the Father!
Central truth: Whatever heaven represents to us as Jesus, our intercessor, the Holy Spirit represents heaven to us as Jesus, our intercessor.
Jesus gave us clear instruction about the Holy Spirit’s ministry (calling) in our prayer walk. “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever– The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to in support.” – John 14:16-18.
Jesus said, “I am going to the Father, but I will send one just like Me. And He will not just be with you but in you as are in Me.” Now that Jesus has ascended into heaven, He has the covenant right to intercede, or have intercession, because He is everything that the Holy Spirit is to us now. I will make intercession to the Father to send Me back to the earth in Spirit of resurrection form, so that I can now build in them a temple of the Glory to Glorify the Father. So, whatever the Father has given Me I now give to them, and the same Spirit that anointed me to make Me who I am is NOW IN THEM. I intercede the Father that the work of the Holy Spirit will now bring My ministry and calling in fulness in them!
The Trinity breathed the image and likeness of God into Adam. So, when we got born-again, He activated in our spirit man the same creation and we are a species that has never existed before. So, when I get filled with the Spirit, speaking in other tongues, the Holy Spirit can now work Christ the Glory in us, and we do the works of Jesus. Like what Dad Hagin said, the Spirit within us, and the Spirit upon us [understanding the anointing].
Jesus will not leave you comfortless, He will not leave you as orphans or Fatherless. When we look at an orphan, we see someone who has no purpose, a cast away, living a life through others acceptance, one who has no direction or inheritance. When you feel abandoned, you will do anything to have the feeling of being loved, to have value and acceptance. What happens? You yield to the flesh nature which is carnal, and you live a life of misery and you affect others to live like you [social media has exposed that orphan spirit]. And the world is full of the orphan spirit because the focus is all about ME, and the church is living like one who has no hope because they are living without the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals the REALITY of not just Jesus but the Father.
One of the words used for the Holy Spirit in John 14:16 is intercessor, connected to the ministry and calling of prayer. He stands in the gap taking God’s hand and taking hold of our born-again inner man. He is our spiritual contact. He prays God’s will, heart, desire, plan, and purpose through us. We become prayer vessels of intercession! What an honor and privilege to be a vessel and a mouthpiece for Him!
We need to become more sensitive and yield in a greater measure to fellowship and know when he speaks, and then obey, being guided, and led by Him as the person of the Holy Spirit. He is just as much as God is God and Jesus being Jesus! The Ministry of Prayer of the Holy Spirit is the most powerful calling we can function in, not miracles, not signs and wonders. The Prayer ministry will open the doors to the supernatural.
We were ministering in Moscow, and I said to the Lord, “Why is there no revival here? The people are so hungry for the Word.” Then I heard the Lord say this: “Yes, I can give them revival but first there must be a PRAYER REVIVAL because prayer is the fire that will sustain the true revival.” Everything in the Kingdom that God does has to be birthed first in INTERCESSION, to give God authority for His will to be done on earth!
Meditation for spiritual explosion: The Holy Spirit will be sent by the Father in the Son’s name. The name is the Son Himself because of His Glorification of that name. The Spirit is the Person, the Being of the Son. When we call on the name of the Son, we get the Spirit — the manifestation of His Glory!
